Namibian Fencing Federation

Para Fencing

Inclusive. Competitive. Empowering. Para Fencing welcomes athletes with physical impairments to fence in a fast, tactical sport that’s adapted for wheelchairs and diverse abilities.

What is Para Fencing?

Same sport. Smart adaptations.

Athletes fence from a fixed chair on a metallic frame so footwork becomes upper-body movement, timing and bladework. We use the same weapons, rules framework and scoring as Olympic fencing.

Who can fence?

Anyone with a physical impairment affecting legs and/or balance — including amputation, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy or similar conditions. Beginners and transfers from other sports are very welcome!
